Board of Directors

Gary Pennington
I am very enthusiastic to be on the Board of Free Bikes 4 Kidz (FB4K) Delaware. As an avid cyclist for over 25 years, I’ve experienced firsthand the joy, freedom, and personal growth that cycling provides. My passion has driven me to compete in cycling endurance events and criterium races. Moreover, I have contributed to the cycling community as a founding member and past president of a local Major Taylor Cycling Club. In this role, I’ve had the fulfilling opportunity to mentor youth, teaching them essential cycling safety and responsibility.
My professional foundation is built upon 27 years of service as a Communications Officer with the U.S. Army, and is further solidified by a Master’s degree in Information System Technology from Wilmington University. Following my military retirement, I began a career with the Civil Service at Dover Air Force Base, and later transitioned to the National Capital Region, where I worked as an Information System Security Engineer with the Department of Defense (DoD). This career in technology has equipped me with strong skills in strategic planning, governance, systems management, and operational execution.
I am eager to leverage this blend of technical expertise and deep community cycling involvement to support FB4K’s mission of getting every child on a bike. I believe my commitment and experience align perfectly with FB4K’s goals, and I would be deeply honored to contribute to the organization’s continued success.
